- IAIABC POC Format; Daily submissions
- POC Online Inquiry
|
| Policies—Compliance Requirements |
Must be filed within 14 days after the Policy Effective Date. Maine is considering amending its rule to require proof of coverage to be filed within 30 days after the policy effective date. In the meantime, while proof of coverage is still required by rule to be filed within 14 days after the policy effective date, the Board will not seek penalties if the policy is received within 30 days after the policy effective date. Maine will not be accepting POC Notices after May 1, 2011. |
| Cancellation—Compliance Requirements |
Must be filed 30 or more days prior to the Cancellation Effective Date. Maine is not a continuous coverage state. |
| Reinstatements— Compliance Requirements |
Due within 5 days after the Reinstatement Effective Date. |
| FEIN—Compliance Requirements |
Required |
| UIAN—Compliance Requirements |
Unemployment Insurance (UIAN) Number/Code is required for all employers having a location in Maine. For new policies where the employer is a new entity, the UIAN may not be known at the time of submission. In this instance, the UIAN is not required. |
| Address Reporting Requirement |
Prefers out-of-state address in lieu of Employer Names linked to Address Type 6 – No Physical Location. |
| Fines—Compliance Requirements |
The state fines $100 for each late-filed POC reporting violation. (See Policy—Compliance Requirements above.) Maine does not recognize the NCCI Receive Date. Receive Date is determined by states acceptance of submission. |
| Appeals—Compliance Requirements |
Appeals for penalty must be filed with the state within two weeks from the date of the fine notice. |
