NCCI’s newest data tool, Medical Data Collection, is now available on ncci.com!
This tool will be your single source for tracking the editing results of your Medical Data Call submissions during the certification process starting April 1, 2010, and when reporting begins in Fourth Quarter 2010. Medical Data Call Certification Medical Data Call certification begins April 1, and all reporters must be certified prior to submitting production files to NCCI. This applies to all affiliate groups and business partners (TPAs, bill review vendors, pharmacy vendors, etc.) that are authorized to report the Call. Also, business partners are required to be certified for each NCCI affiliate that they are reporting on behalf of.
Certification testing includes the following three steps: - Step 1—Test File Creation—Submit your test file in accordance with the requirements provided in the Electronic Transmission User’s Guide and the Medical Data Call Reporting Guidebook.
- Step 2—File Acceptance—Use the File Acceptance view of the Medical Data Collection tool to review the editing results. Upon successful completion, data quality editing will begin.
- Step 3—Quality Tracking—Review your data quality editing results in the Quality Tracking view of the Medical Data Collection tool. NCCI will discuss these results with you and advise whether or not your submission meets our data quality requirements.
Following the successful completion of testing, you will enter the Approval phase, and you will be ready to submit your production files when Call reporting begins in Fourth Quarter 2010. Submitting Production Files to NCCI When production reporting begins, you will be able to view your editing results for each file submitted using the File Acceptance and Quality Tracking views in Medical Data Collection.
Additionally, the Quarter-End Validation view will provide you with summarized results for the entire quarter to help identify any systemic issues with your Call submissions.
