NCCI is dedicated to the systematic research, analysis, and maintenance of NCCI's classification system. The Underwriting Assurance Department of NCCI ensures that the classification system remains healthy, viable, and responsive to the needs of the workers compensation industry. Recommendations on the workers compensation classification system periodically are made to users in order to obtain national approval with regulators in multiple states.
