(Boca Raton, FL, May 7, 2004) The membership of NCCI Holdings, Inc., today elected M. Lee Patkus, Charles Potok, Gary Thompson, and Coleman Ross to the company’s 2004–2005 board of directors. Nine additional directors were re-elected to the NCCI board.
The following new directors join the NCCI board:
- Mr. Patkus is president of Harleysville Group Inc. and chief operating officer
of the Harleysville Insurance organization. In this position, he oversees all property/casualty insurance operations for Harleysville. Prior to his current position, Mr. Patkus was executive vice president of field operations and subsidiaries for Harleysville, which he joined in 1999.
- Mr. Potok started Companion Property and Casualty in 1984 and is currently serving as president. He has been responsible for the company’s financial success as a regional insurance operation positioned on the leading edge of managed care workers compensation. He was previously employed by the South Carolina Department of Insurance as chief actuary and director of the Property/Casualty Division.
- Mr. Thompson is a senior vice president of middle market and specialty practices for The Hartford. In this capacity, he manages $1.5 billion in the workers compensation line of business. Mr. Thompson currently oversees strategy, profit, and loss for The Hartford’s commercial businesses including middle market, marine, risk management, alternative markets, and specialty risk services.
- Mr. Ross most recently served as chief financial officer of the Phoenix Companies in Hartford, Connecticut, as well as the chief financial officer of Trenwick Group, Ltd., of Hamilton, Bermuda. Prior to this position, Mr. Ross was with Price Waterhouse Cooper (PWC) for 34 years, focusing on audit and accounting services with insurance clients.
